FCF Smoke Alarms

We install and test Smoke Alarms to Australian Standard AS3786

Smoke alarms should be tested every 6 months to make sure they function at a critical lifesaving moment when smoke is detected and to minimise any false alarms.  They should be located in the correct places as to comply with Australian Standard AS3786.

Our models can be connected to the mains supply or with a battery, some lasting 10-years.  Smoke Alarm technology is advancing quickly, and our smart smoke alarms are great value for money.  Using our asset software, we can notify you when your Smoke Alarms are due to be tested or replaced, any show warranties and history of each Smoke Alarm.

Changes in Legislation is consistent and FCF is a founding member of the Smoke Alarm Association. Our participation in being a part of this association allows FCF to be up to date with legislation changes, best practice and more product knowledge.

Fire Doors – AS1905, AS1851

Hydrants – AS1851

Buildings of a certain size and classification are required to have Fire Hydrant to supply water for the brigade to fight fires.

Australian Standards and Government Regulations stipulate these Hydrants are checked regularly to ensure maximum efficiency.

They are tested to ensure water supply at the correct pressure. The individual valves are checked every six months to ensure water supply and every 12 months a Pressure/Flow Test is conducted.

A 5 yearly service is required for an overall inspection of the Hydrant

Test and Tag AS3760

Ensuring your electrical equipment meets the Workplace Health and Safety Regulations is very important in Australia. FCF inspect electrical items to AS3760. RCD testing or otherwise known as Safety Switch’s carry a requirement to be tested in businesses. The testing has two tests per year, the first test being a push button test, this is a simple test to ensure that the internals react in a timely manner with no delay to test facility. A yearly test can be performed in two ways, normally with an Electrician and without. An electrician with an observer (trained in switchboard rescue) can remove the switchboard cover and access all the relevant test points efficiently. A non Electrician will use a RCD test meter to determine if the RCD phases react to below 300ms. Find out which option is cost effective for your business contact FCF Fire & Electrical.

Fire Training - Fire Safety Regulations 2008 and Australian Standards 3745-2010

As per the Australian Standards, Fire Brigade Regulations and Government Legislation all business’s in Australia must conduct Fire Evacuation Training and First Response (Fire Extinguisher) training every two years.

This is led by a trained Fire Safety Advisor.

For the Evacuation Training we work with the Fire Warden Team to identify high risk areas in the building, point out locations of Fire Safety Assets (Fire Extinguishers, Hose Reels)

If there is a Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) we discuss how to use that and the process of evacuating the building to a safe place. We include a real evacuation in that session.

For First Response to Fire Emergency (Fire Extinguisher Training) we discuss how “fire” works, different classes of fire, different types of extinguishers. This is followed by hands on us of extinguishers.
