RCD testing or otherwise known as Safety Switch’s carry a requirement to be tested in businesses. The testing has two tests per year, the first test being a push button test, this is a simple test to ensure that the internals react in a timely manner with no delay to test facility. A yearly test can be performed in two ways, normally with an Electrician and without. An electrician with an observer (trained in switchboard rescue) can remove the switchboard cover and access all the relevant test points efficiently. A non Electrician will use a RCD test meter to determine if the RCD phases react to below 300ms. Find out which option is cost effective for your business contact FCF Fire & Electrical.
As per the Australian Standards, Fire Brigade Regulations and Government Legislation all business’s in Australia must conduct Fire Evacuation Training and First Response (Fire Extinguisher) training every two years.
This is led by a trained Fire Safety Advisor.
For the Evacuation Training we work with the Fire Warden Team to identify high risk areas in the building, point out locations of Fire Safety Assets (Fire Extinguishers, Hose Reels)
If there is a Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) we discuss how to use that and the process of evacuating the building to a safe place. We include a real evacuation in that session.
For First Response to Fire Emergency (Fire Extinguisher Training) we discuss how “fire” works, different classes of fire, different types of extinguishers. This is followed by hands on us of extinguishers.
