RCD testing or otherwise known as Safety Switch’s carry a requirement to be tested in businesses. The testing has two tests per year, the first test being a push button test, this is a simple test to ensure that the internals react in a timely manner with no delay to test facility. A yearly test can be performed in two ways, normally with an Electrician and without. An electrician with an observer (trained in switchboard rescue) can remove the switchboard cover and access all the relevant test points efficiently. As per the Australian Standards, Fire Brigade Regulations and Government Legislation all business’s in Australia must conduct Fire Evacuation Training and First Response (Fire Extinguisher) training every two years.
